Part 5

Practicing parts in isolation leaves many test takers unprepared for the pressure of the real test.
Doing one part at a time, you never practice staying focused through 200 questions in a row.
At home you rewind as often as you like; in the test room each recording plays only once.
You can count correct answers but not tell what TOEIC score or level they mean.
Listening has 100 questions (Parts 1–4) and Reading has 100 (Parts 5–7): 200 questions in about two hours.
Listening and Reading are each scored 5–495, for a total of 10–990. The table shows the score range for each CEFR level from the thresholds ETS publishes.
| CEFR level | Listening | Reading |
|---|---|---|
| C1 | 490–495 | 455–495 |
| B2 | 400–485 | 385–450 |
| B1 | 275–395 | 275–380 |
| A2 | 110–270 | 115–270 |
| A1 | 60–105 | 60–110 |
Corodomo's scores are estimates: ETS converts raw scores separately for each test form and does not publish the tables.

Each part needs its own approach. Use these while you practice so they are automatic on test day.
Look at the photo before the audio starts: who, doing what, where. Watch for options with the right words but the wrong action.
Listen for the question word at the start (Who, When, Where, Why…). An option that repeats words from the question is often a trap.
Read the three questions for each conversation first so you know what to listen for.
Questions usually follow the order of the talk: the main idea comes early, details and figures in the middle.
Work out the word class first (noun, adjective, adverb…); many items can be answered without translating the whole sentence.
Read the sentences before and after the gap. A whole-sentence insertion must fit the flow of the passage.
Read the questions before searching the text. Pace yourself so no question is left blank — TOEIC does not deduct points for wrong answers.
